Andrew is the Managing Director of Strategic Corporate Finance.

He established Strategic Corporate Finance in June 2000 and since then the firm has worked on over 250 transactions.

Andrew is a recent winner of Insiders’ South Yorkshire “Dealmaker of the Year” award.

He has over 25 years experience of carrying out acquisitions, disposals and management buyouts / buyins. Andrew’s experience is across a wide variety of industries and deal sizes. He ensures that the firm always provides a “hands on” partner led service.

In respect of management buyouts, Andrew says “It is best to involve us at the earliest possible opportunity. That way we can negotiate a commercially sound deal and one that can be funded.”

“Our services include negotiating the deal, raising the finance and most importantly project managing the transaction from start to finish.”

Another service that Strategic Corporate Finance has a reputation for delivering excellent results is finding buyers for companies, negotiating outline terms and project managing the transaction through to legal completion.

Andrew says “We act for many vendors each year in finding purchasers for their companies, through extensive and highly targeted research, and then negotiating the sale and project managing the disposal through to a successful completion”.

Greg Barker Director

portrait

Greg qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant with Deloitte in Nottingham before joining Strategic Corporate Finance in 2006. During that time he has advised on numerous management buyouts and built-up a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Greg’s advice to those contemplating an MBO is to take advantage of the free advice that is out there “we are more than happy to discuss scenarios on a confidential basis, over the phone or face to face. We can quickly guide managers and directors on whether an MBO is feasible, what their company is worth and what funding is available. Where an MBO is an option, we can sit down with the owners of the business and the management team and openly discuss what can and can’t be achieved.”

Greg says the current economic conditions are no barrier to obtaining funding “banks still need to lend money but must be selective where they lend. MBO’s are often a favoured by lenders as the risk presented by a change in management team is avoided.”

As well as management buyouts, Greg is experienced dealing with corporate disposals, acquisitions, valuations and fundraising, allowing him to take a rounded view when giving advice.
